Sheema: Police in Sheema is investigating circumstances where unknown people mobbed a resident of Akapere trading centre, Kagango Division in Sheema Municipality.
It is alleged that on Sunday morning, Laban Beinekahegye 38 years was found hiding at Nyakabira Church of Uganda and beat to death by angry residents over allegations of killing his wife Jamiida Atukuume 32 years.
According to eye witness who saw Laban killing the wife said, the death of Jamida came after a heated argument where she accused Laban of not returning home with her Shs3500.
Debrah Twikiriize the neighbor and eye witness of the fateful incident said, “It was around 6:40PM when Jamiida gave her husband Laban Shs5000 to go to Omukinaku trading centre, buy paraffin of 1000 and a Chapati of 500. As soon as Laban left home, Jamiida told me she had made a mistake of giving him all money, because the husband used not to bring balance,” She said.
The eye witness continued, “Laban returned at around 7:30pm and after taking food, we heard them quarreling and they were like, I need my balance. This went on for almost eight minutes until we heard Jamiida, alarming, calling us for help. I and my husband rushed to their house where we met Laban holding a panga and a hoe cutting Jamida to pieces,” Deborah said.
“My husband beat their door and Laban came out to chop us too while throwing a panga to my husband. We ran alarming neighbours who within minutes arrived but unfortunately, the lady had breathed her last,” She narrated.
Information TheSpy Uganda obtained from Laban’s family, states that it wasn’t his first time (Laban) involving in such a fateful incident.

He once ambushed his uncle Kineemba Elidard who was from the toilet and cut him. Laban was jailed for 8 months.
He later tried cutting his neighbor Nuwagira Yowaasi who was saved by residents.
Both bodies were laid to rest on Monday 26 August 2019 at Akapeera, Kagango Sheema leaving behind 3 young children.
The old kid is 6 years, the second born is 4 years and the last born is one and a half years.
DPC Sheema district SP Scovia Birungi said police is still investigating to know who killed Laban.
