KAMPALA, Uganda:
Revelations have finally emerged about why celebrated Ugandan local artist Ronald Mayinja quit Golden Band.
Mayinja made the revelation mid this week when he announced that he had quit Golden Productions band. Mayinja issued a public statement stating why he had decided to quit the group. His message read as thus;
“This is to inform the directors of Golden Band that I Ronald Mayinja wish to exit the band due to reasons I worth not mentioning here. However, I do thank you for your commendable love and support.
To my fans, it’s my honour to thank you for your continued support and love that has made my music career a success. I do inform you that am still in Music Industry and offering you the best given your lovely support.
I wish you a prosperous and fruitful year as we develop Uganda’s Music Industry in Particular and Africa at Large.
Yours,
Ronald Mayinja.
Although Mayinja didn’t reveal exactly why he is quitting, our moles within the Band reveal that  Mayinja was forced out after failing to agree with members like Mesach Ssemakula, Musa Kavuma, Catherine Kusasira, Stecia Mayanja, Grace Ssekamate and others because of his leaning  to Bobi Wine’s People Power pressure group. It is said that trouble started when Bobi Wine recently released a song titled ‘Tuliyambala Engule’, which features Ronald Mayinja, Irene Ntale, King Saha, Nubian Li, Iren Namatovu and others.
However, the song has also caused trouble for the Golden band. Mayinja’s fellow Band Members, many of whom are NRM sympathizers like Kusasira, fear that Bobi Wine’s song is likely to cast them in bad light with government, if one of their members continues performing with  Bobi Wine’s People Power group.
Our spies have learnt that after Mayinja and his band members failing to reach an agreement, they tasked him to either choose between the Band and People Power. He shocked them by choosing to go with the People Power group.
It should be noted that Mayinja is nurturing a political career and it is said that he plans to contest for a Member of Parliament seat in his home district of Gomba, reason why he could have chosen People Power over the band.
