Democratic Party’s National Vice President and senior counsel Fred Mukasa Mbidde has assembled bigwigs to prepare for the party’s former President Dr. Paul Kawanga Ssemogerere who died on Friday.
Mbidde says Kawanga whom he calls a great leader, deserves a befitting send-off as the only way to appreciate his mega impact in Uganda’s political arena.
As a result of the above, Mbidde has appointed a couple of DP members and leaders to organize Kawanga’s send-off. Below is the list;

2. Owek. Christine Mugerwa Kasule (Deputy Secretary General)
3. Owek. Babirye Kabanda (National Treasurer)
4. Hon. Ssebamala Richard (NEC Member & MP)
5. Hon. Bayigga Lulume (MP)
6. Hon. J. B. Mutebi (former MP Busiro South)
7. Hon. Maxensia Nakibuuka Ttakirambule (NEC member & Vice Chair Rubaga North)
8. Hon. Dick Lukyamuzi (NEC member for Masaka sub-region)
9. Hon. Annet Nakyanja Mawejje (Secretary DP Women’s League & District Councilor Wakiso)
10. Hon. Jude Mbabaali (former Chairman Masaka District)
11. Chairman Kwatakunsawo (Chairman Rubaga South)
12. Hon. Ggaba Charles Wilson (NEC Member)
13. Ms. Angela Kigonya (former Kampala City Councilor and DP mayoral candidate Rubaga Division)
According to the family, the former DP president will be laid to rest on Monday in Nkumba and the vigil services will be held at the Family Residence located at 401 Stensera Road, Lubaga Kyaddondo on Saturday, November 19, 2022, starting at 2pm.
Karoli further noted that a requiem mass will be held at the Lubaga Cathedral on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 11am. On Monday, November 21, 2022, a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1955 Nattale Nkumba Bufulu opposite Wagagai in Busiro, Wakiso District, starting at 12 noon.
Meanwhile, the office of the President has announced that it will join the family of the deceased and offer him a state funeral.
The above has been revealed by the Minister of Presidency Milly Babalanda who tweeted thus;
”H.E the President has this morning directed that fallen former DP President General, Hon. Dr. Paul Kawanga Ssemogerere, is accorded an official funeral. All arrangements are, accordingly, underway.”
