The mighty powerful boda boda 2010 patron Haji Abdallah Kitata who was recently arrested by Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence on the allegations of murder of a Case Hospital Accountant Francis Ekalungar has been charged and remanded to Kigo prisons with his 13 co-accused till 9th Feb 2018!
Impeccable sources from CMI intimated to SpyUganda that ‘commander’ Abdallah Kittata and his accomplices were on Monday arraigned before Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI)’s own ‘Unit Disciplinary Court’(UDC) chaired by Col. Kayemba, charged and remanded to Kigo prisons all the 13 till 9th Feb 2018 when they will return for hearing of their cases. The sources also said that all the accused were not allowed to enter plea as their cases couldn’t be heard by that court because they are capital in nature triable by a higher court.
The decision to jail Kittata and his co-accused to Kigo was arrived at after a rigorous brainstorming over the weekend about the police boss Gen. Edward Kale Kayihura’s alleged orders to all his officers not to record statements and/or open up any case files against Abdallah Kittata, believed to be his ‘blue eyed boy’. According to sources, this rubbed CMI operatives who arrested them the wrong way, hence the hard decision to commit them to military trial.
They were charged with several offenses including obstructing lawful arrests, destruction of Military equipment, being in possession of military attire, a pistol, SMG riffle among among others.
The Thirteen suspects include Huzairu Kiwalabye, a brother to Kitatta and a Prime suspect; Muzamir Mawa, Deo Iga, two Congolese nationals and a woman.
The others are security guards identified as Hamza Mulema and Vincent Chandra who were attached to case clinic.
Kitata was arrested on 19 January from a hotel in Kabusu where he was hiding after the joint operations by military agents to crack down boda boda 2010, when the paramilitary group leaders were cited in the murder of Ekalungar,an accountant with Case Hospital on Uganda Road,Kampala.
On Sunday, Lt.Gen.Henry Tumukunde who is security minister was quoted by Daily monitor online edition as having said that he was behind the arrest of Abdallah Kittata and that was still going to arrest more criminals, and dared his (Abdallah)‘God father’ to come out and they face it off.
