The incarcerated Kawempe South Member of Parliament and new COSASE Chairman Mubarak Munyagwa has been released from military detention together with other forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party members who were arrested by military on Wednesday while monitoring Arua Municipality by-elections.

In her write up, FDC women league Ingrid Turinawe revealed that due to intensive pressure from the party leadership, military managed to set free some members.

“We have successfully secured the release of our FDC colleagues who were arrested by military in Arua Yesterday. Hon. Munyagwa Mubarrack,  Lukwago Musa, Muhamad Mutazindwa were picked from Kenya Parish as they supervised elections  while Haji Sowedi Wanyama was picked from Destiny courts.

They had been detained at Arua airstrip military barracks.

Arua wasn’t only an election campaign but it was a fight which we did not know how it was going to end.

Prayers to members of Kasiano Wadri team who are still in detention and those who are hospitalised,” She posted.

But some people have criticised her that in her statement she has vehemently refused to talk about Bobi Wine situation that is currently facing the charges of treason, illegal possession of firearms and malicious damage.

It may be remembered that on the last campaign rally, People Power team led by Bobi wine that was campaigning for Kassiano Wadri interrupted FDC’s rally while passing by and specifically interrupted Rtd.Col.Dr.Kizza Besigye’s speech for close to 30 minutes.
