Mityana: Hon Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Dev’t, Judith Nalule Nabakooba has donated a multi-million standard scanner to Mityana General Hospital meant to support the maternity section.
According to Nabakooba, this scanner can perform a couple of purposes among them including; confirming pregnancy, date of pregnancy, and monitoring pregnancy for any complications.
”As part of my continued support through the Government of Uganda, I officially hand over this scanner to Mityana General Hospital to help our beloved pregnant mothers,” Nabakooba said as she handed over the scanner.
According to hospital officials, the scanner will be used in fertility screening, diagnosing and monitoring fibroids, and screening for ovarian and uterine cancers.
TheSpy Uganda has learnt that the scanner can also be used in general medical care for both children, the elderly, men, and women for acute emergency conditions like bowel obstruction, appendicitis, and gallstones among others.
”It’s indeed a relief to our patients, we badly needed this scanner, we can’t thank enough our honorable Minister, she is a very committed leader and very concerned about Ugandans,” one of the hospital officials said adding, ”this scanner it can even help in establishing chronic medical conditions like prostate enlargement, renal failure, and liver diseases.”
