Mayuge: It was tears and weeping when the family and residents of Busuyi, Wairasa Sub-County, Mayuge District found dead a six-year-old boy who went missing a week ago.
Residents found Edirisa Kabulure lying in a sugarcane plantation with some body parts chopped off, tongue, heart removed and hair shaved off.
The Busoga East regional police spokesman, Mr James Mubi, confirmed the incident, saying that the child was kidnapped before being murdered.
“The boy could have been killed in ritual sacrifice by his stepfather, who is currently on the run. Both of the deceased’s arms were cut off, plus the tongue and heart. The perpetrators also cut off the boy’s hair,” Mubi said.
Speaking to Weeping Jackylyn Namuyangu, the deceased’s mother, narrated that she left the boy with two other kids at home and went to wash clothes at the water well but did not find the boy when she returned home hours later.
Edirisa’s father said, he suspects his child was sacrificed and appealed to police to have the perpetrators brought to book.
Police handed over the body to relatives for burial as it continues with investigations
