Kampala: Fort Portal municipality Member of Parliament Alex Ruhunda Akiiki popularly known as #Nikisonoka has embarked on a campaign to garner support for Tooro Football Province.
Spy Uganda has learn that ever since Tooro Province exhibited its ability to perform well on the pitch, Ruhunda has made it his personal business to rally the Tooro community in Kampala to support the Club when ever tourism city boys are in caotic Kampala.
Despite being a very learned fellow,Ruhunda, as a way of expressing how passionate he is about his home area football Club, decided to discard English and sent out a message written in Rutooro,in which he calls upon all Batooro to support the soccer Club as they play over the weekend at Lugogo stadium.
He wrote thus; “Ninsaba nokwebundaza kwingi abantu b’atooro mwiije mubwingi musagike team ya Tooro Province kyamukaga 6th Lugogo indoor stadium saaha Mwenda. Nitusamba Kampala province kandi nitwetagisa Kusinga rundi draw nukwo tweyongere mumaiso. Mwebale.”
This can be loosely translated to mean that; “I kindly beg all Batooro to come in big numbers to support our Team Tooro Province on July 6th, at Lugogo Indoor stadium, at 3:00Pm. We shall be playing Kampala Province and we need either a win or a draw such that we can proceed to the next level. Thanks!”
