Museveni Launches Factory That Makes Malaria Drugs, New Company Donates Double Cabin Pickup Truck To COVID-19 Task Force

In a bid to enhance the fight against Malaria, which is one of the leading killer  diseases in Uganda, His Excellency President  Yoweri Museveni on Thursday launched Dei Bio- Pharma Industries, a company that manufactures assorted drugs which include Anti-Malaria medicine.

During the launch, President Yoweri Museveni, who was in the company of Speaker of parliament Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga,  toured and endorsed  the operations of Dei Bio- Pharma Industries in Kigogwa, Matuga.

The facility will manufacture essential quality medicines in a range of therapeutic areas with a special emphasis on malaria drugs.

The founders of Dei Group, which oversees the Pharmaceutical, also donated a brand new Double Cabin pick-up truck and 7 tonnes of maize flour to the National COVID-19 taskforce.

President Museveni congratulated the founding director Mathias Magoola, for the spirit of freedom fighting, whom he said suffered more from the hands of those meant to support him. He said his visit to the facility was therefore partly aimed at morale-boosting Magoola and his team.

After his visit President Museveni tweeted thus; “Together with Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, we toured and launched operations for Dei Bio- Pharma Industries in Kigogwa, Matuga. These will manufacture essential quality medicines in a range of therapeutic areas with a special emphasis on malaria.”
