President Yoweri Museveni on Saturday joined fellow World leaders to mourn the passing of former United States President George H.W. Bush.

In a statement on his social media, Museveni praised Mr. Bush for his “outstanding political credentials, guiding America and the world towards the end of the Cold War”

“On Uganda’s and my own behalf, I join the Americans and the rest of the world to mourn the passing of His Excellency George H. W. Bush,” Mr. Museveni twitted.

According to family spokesman Jim McGrath, Mr. Bush died shortly after 10 pm Friday, about eight months after the death of his wife, Barbara Bush.

The nation’s 41st president served from 1989 to 1993, and eight years later watched his son George W. became the 43rd president.

Mr. Bush had also been a World War II hero, Texas congressman, CIA director, and Ronald Reagan’s vice president.

His son, former president George W Bush, paid tribute to him as a “man of highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for”.
