Presidents Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda and his counterpart Salva Kirr of South Sudan held secret talks at State House Entebbe on Sunday morning.
Our Sources at State House reveal that among the key issues discussed by the two heads of state included the efforts of the Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Juba towards peace building.
Museveni and Kirr also discussed the launch of operations for Uganda Airlines in Juba.
Uganda Airlines is set to commence commercial flights soon and Juba would be one of the Airline’s biggest destination because of the business relations between Uganda and South Sudan.
Shortly after their secret meeting, Museveni took to his twitter handle and tweeted thus;
“Held talks with South Sudan President Salva Kiir, at
@StateHouseUg
. I am optimistic that the reassembling of the SPLM in Juba is a commitment towards peace, despite destabilization from a few internal elements. We also discussed launching operations for @UG_Airlines in Juba.”
