Museveni To Address Nation About COVID-19 Fight, Uganda’s Cases Rise To 770

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni  is set to give his 15th National Address on Coronavirus, during which he will update the country on how far the government has reached with fighting the pandemic.

Our Spies reveal that the Presidential Address, which will he held at 8:00PM, will be televised across all TV stations and broadcast on all radio stations.  

Don Wanyama’s tweet about the Presidential Address

Don Wanyama, the Senior Press Secretary to the President, confirmed the Presidential Address when he tweeted thus; “President @KagutaMuseveni will address the country today, Monday, at 8pm, giving an update on the country’s fight against COVID-19 and related issues. Catch address on TVs and radio.”

Meanwhile, this comes at a time when the number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in Uganda has reached 770, according to  information from the Ministry of Health.

According to the Ministry, results from samples tested on 20th, June 2020, confirm 7 new COVID-19 case, bringing the total confirmed cases to 770, with 578 Total Recoveries.

The new cases include 2 truck drivers from Points of Entry: 1 from Elegu and 1 from Malaba.

They also include 5 cases who are among contacts and alerts: 3 from Kyotera, 2 from Amuru.

The Ministry also noted that 12 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 and were returned to  their respective country of origin.

Samples from Points of Entry tested are 1,843, while  Samples from alerts and contacts are 1,082 and Samples from health workers are 10, all out of a grand total of 2,935 samples tested.
