Uganda police has this morning made it’s assertion regarding Bobi Wine’s Kyarenga Concert.
In a letter addressed to the event organizers, AIGP Asuman Mugyenyi the Police Director in charge of operations on behalf of IGP said that the concert will not be possible to take place this year.
“The management of Mandela National stadium has availed us with a matrix of events they plan to host from September 2018 to January 2019 but does not include Kyarenga show,” reads part of the letter.
He added that: “You are therefore advised to call off the music show since you have not made any arrangements with the management of Mandela National stadium to have the show on 20th October.”
On Tuesday Bobi Wine issued a narrative accusing the security agency of how his efforts to secure permission to host the concert have been frustrated since September.
Bobi Wine also stated that he had reached an agreement with the stadium management on the date of the concert and also paid booking fees.
On Saturday the management of Mandela National Stadium issued a statement saying that the artist turned politician had requested for the venue but was advised to secure clearance from police and sister security agencies.
