New Hope! Gen Saleh, Minister Frank Tumwebaze Unveil Credible Solutions To Unemployment

Gulu: General Salim Saleh aka Caleb Akandwanaho, a retired military officer, also Presidential adviser on military matters, in collaboration with the Minister of Gender Labour & Social Dev’t also Kibale East legislator Hon. Frank Tumwebaze Kagyigyi have designed new and effective solutions to curb Uganda’s famous barrier of unemployment.

In a meeting held in Gulu Northern Uganda, Ministry of Gender’s top management with the Operation Wealth Creation Chief Co-ordinator and former Minister of State for microfinance Gen Saleh agreed to start curbing unemployment through implementation of ‘Key Performance Indicator’ (KPI) mechanisms, which will be launched soon, they revealed.

“MGLSD-UG top management had a half-day engagement with Gen Saleh at his base in Gulu. We dissected issues to do with Labour as a factor of production & agreed that a tool to measure employment mainstreaming & creation as a KPI will soon be developed & launched,” Minister Tumwebaze confirmed the development via his tweeter handle.

Tumwebaze added thus; “This tool will make job creation a measurable KPI across MDAs & a basis for future budget allocations and prioritization. Gen. Saleh is so deep and solid on understanding policy and programs of Gov’t. He once again won my admiration today. I pray for his long life.”

It should be remembered that Uganda’s unemployment rate as of 2018 was 1.75%, a 0.04% decline from 2017. Unemployment refers to the share of the labour force that is without work but available for and seeking employment.
