Kampala: State House Anti-Corruption Unit headed by no-nonsense Col. Edith Nakalema Asizua has arrested a court bailiff, Moses Kirunda after one month of hiding.
Kirunda is accused of shooting and killing a businessman in Nateete, a city suburb. It’s worth noting that this is the same person who allegedly commanded the demolition of Ndeeba church in 2020, leaving Christians countrywide shedding endless tears.
Investigations
According to reports, Kirunda connived with Maj. Nelson Kyatuka, a Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldier attached to the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI), and a police officer yet to be identified, to murder businessman, Magidu Mugwanya, at Nateete in Kampala, on July 14 2020.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire; “He was arrested by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit and the police have been able to record his statement. He has been given police bond as investigations continue.”
Luke further noted that Kirunda denied shooting Mugwanya but put it on Maj Kyatuka who has since been charged with one count of murder and two counts of failure to protect war materials in the Makindye-based court-martial which he denied before being remanded to Makindye Military Police Barracks until August 25.
