Sheema: Police in Sheema has Thursday, October 17, 2019 arrested a 24-year-old man who is alleged to have been stealing cows in Sheema municipality.
Winston Turyasingura from Rweyeshera village, Sheema central division in Sheema municipality was arrested by Kabwohe police station selling a cow he’d stolen from Jovia Karukiiko,76, a resident of Kyakasa village, Kyakasa West ward in Kashozi division Sheema municipality.
The Sheema district DPC SP Scovia Birungi, said that “Since July 2019 we deployed investigators to find out who has been stealing cows in Sheema municipality, especially in Kashozi, Kagango and Sheema central divisions until we landed on Turyasingura, who gave us the full story.”
She added that “By the way this was the third cow these thieves had stolen from this old woman’s farm.”
Turyasingura told cops that he does not steal alone but has his master called John Bosco son of Bejuura Erisamu, who hails from Kyakasa village in Sheema municipality, whom he said is more experienced in stealing than him.
“John Bosco called me last night like at 10:00pm and told me that by 5:00AM I should be at his home and we get one cow to sell. But later after residents landing on us, he ran away,” Turyasingura told police.
Although John Bosco ran away the police are hunting him while Turyasingura was with cattle theft vide file number SD 32/15/10/19 of Kabwohe police as investigations continue.
