Kampala: National Unity Platform lawyers led by Counsel Medard Lubega Segona have filed an application seeking to withdraw the contest against President Museveni’s Victory attained in the recently concluded polls.
However, these lawyers’ request was left pending after the Court adjourned the application saying it is required to first publish it in the Uganda gazette and also pin it on the court’s notice board.
As a result therefore, the case was adjourned by 9 justices led by Chief justice Alfonse Owiny Dollo till further notice.
Kyagulanyi lawyers filed to withdraw the petition citing among other reasons Chief Justice Alphonse Owiny-Dollo, the Supreme Court’s rejection of evidence and affidavits that Bobi Wine submitted, and the continued abduction of his supporters by the security operatives.
Remember that days ago Bobi wrote to the court asking Chief Justice Owiny-Dollo, Justice Mike Chibita, and Justice Ezekiel Kurabiraho Muhanguzi to recuse themselves from hearing the case due to conflict of interest but they all refused.

This came after a pre-hearing session of the petition that saw Chief Justice Owiny-Dollo and seven other Justices of the Supreme Court rejecting the inclusion of 127 affidavits onto the earlier evidence submitted by Bobi Wine’s lawyers in support of the petition.
