NUP MPs Allan Sewanyana, Muhamad Ssegirinya Summoned Over Masaka Killings

National Unity Platform (NUP) opposition party Members of Parliament (MPs) Muhammad Ssegirinya of Kawempe North and Makindye West’s Allan Ssewanyana have been summoned by Director Criminal Investigations in Police, Paul Katto Tumuhimbise over Masaka Killings.

According to the letters seen by this website through the office of the speaker of parliament addressed to the duo MPs, Tumuhimbise says the duo have to be grilled over the escalating Masaka killings that have since put the nation in panic.

”The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is investigating some murders that took place in Greater Masaka during the months of July and August 2021,” states the summons addressed to the duo.

Tumuhimbise further ordered the duo to appear before Masaka Police Station on Monday, September 6 at 10 am before D/SSP Moses Taremwa to record their statements.

”This serves as summons for you to appear at Masaka Police Station on Monday 6″ September  2021  at 1000 hours before D/SSP Moses Taremwa for a statement in respect to the said investigations,” summons added.

The same has been confirmed by NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu who has tweeted thus, ”As we speak, Hon. Muhammad Segirinya (MP Kawempe North) and Hon. Allan Ssewanyana (MP Makindye West) have been summoned to appear before CID next Monday in relation to the ongoing spate of murders. Anyone can predict where this is going, and what their grand objective is.

Ever since the tragedy started last month, over 30 people have been killed by still unknown panga wielding goons. Last week Police said had arrested 15 suspects who were arraigned before court and remanded of the same.
