The Bible says that “Those who have shall be added and those who don’t, even the little they have shall be taken away and added onto those who have.
This happens to be the case with Dr Silver Mugisha, the Managing Director (MD) of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC).
As you read this, the Hon. Minister for education and sports Her Excellency Mama Janet Kataha Museveni has appointed Mugisha as the new Board Chairperson of the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) for a period of three years.
Mugisha will now replace Prof. Venansius Baryamureeba who has been at the helm of UBTEB for the past three years. (Provigil)
On top of his roles at NWSC, while at UBTEB Mugisha will lead a team of 15 Board Members in line with the Statutory Instrument 2009 No.9 that established UBTEB
The other appointees are Professor Umar Kakumba, the first Deputy Vice Chancellor Makerere University, who will represent public Universities while Professor Mauda Kamatenesi, the Vice Chancellor Bishop Stuart University will represent private Universities.
The others include employers, Public Service Commission, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Ministry of Education and Sports, Ministry of Water and Environment, Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Uganda National Examinations Board, National Curriculum Development Centre, Ministry of Trade Tourism and Industry, Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Ministry of Energy, and Directorate of Industrial Training.
Members serve for three years and are eligible for reappointment for a second term. They are drawn from constituents and professionals representing Public Universities, Private Universities, and Principals of training institutions.
