Parliament Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has Thursday afternoon handed over the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health to the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) at parliament, after she allegedly failed to show accountability for over Shs6Bn.
Dr Atwine was handed over to CID together with Ronald Ssegawa, the Under Secretary at the same ministry, and were tasked to record a statement about the unlawful expenditure of Shs6Bn government funds.
The acting chairperson of PAC Hon. Phillip Poly Okin Ojara thereafter adjourned the Committee meeting for 20 minutes for the Accounting officer, Dr Atwine, and her junior Ssegawa to write a statement about the said money.
Diana Kanzira Atwine MBChB, MMed, also Atwiine, is a Ugandan medical doctor and civil servant. She was appointed Permanent Secretary on November 4, 2016 by President Yoweri Museveni.Â
She replaced Dr. Asumani Lukwago, who was transferred as Permanent Secretary to the Education Services Commission.
Atwine is also personal Doctor president Yoweri Museveni.
