Pan-African Pyramid Member Vows To Oust NRM’s Nabayiga From Kalangala

Kalangala: Hellen Nakimuli, 34, a Pan-Africanist under Pan-African Pyramid, has vowed to oust the Kalangala district Woman Member of Parliament Aida Nabayiga, of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.

Born on July 2,1985 in Lukuba/ Buwanga village  Buwanga parish,  Kyamuswa sub-county, Kalangala district, Nakimuli is warming up for the  2021 elections on as an Independent candidate.

Her father is a former Mengo Ssaza Chief  for Ssese, called Rev. Father Christopher Walusimbi, and her mother is  Maria Nalwanga Walusimbi, the former councillor for Kyamuswa and Bubeke villages at the district.

Nakimuli says she studied at Bukasa Primary School, then joined Hormisdallen Boarding primary school in Wakiso, where she completed her Primary Seven.

She later joined Our Lady of Good Counsel SSS Gayaza for her O-level, after which she joined St. Augustine SS in Wakiso,  she she completed her A-Level and served as Head Girl.

From there she joined Makerere University where she graduated with a degree in psychology. She once  served as the Community Development Officer in Bubeke sub-county  and was later transferred to Mazinga sub-county in the same position.

She has managed to help several youth, the elderly, women groups and children, who she has helped to uplift their standards of living.
Nakimuli says  “People in Kalangala know me as a hardworking person, who has helped people of Kalangala start up self-help projects that aimed at combating poverty.”

She added that “I have also started up projects for widows and orphans in Kalangala district, who she helps get lawyers to fight for their poor.”

The budding politician says she has endeavoured to uplift the lives of People With Disabilities (PWDs).

Apart from uplifting the lives of disadvantaged groups,  Nakimuli has also indulged in talent development, whereby she identifies youth in Ssese Islands and Kalangala district as a whole who have talents and helps them to promote their God-given gifts so as to uplift their lives.

According to Nakimuli, the main reason she has decided to come out and contest is because people living in Islands have been ignored by government and hence need a voice that will speak out for them such that they can share on the national cake.
