Kampala: Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire has revealed that they are investigating circumstances under which a passenger was found dead in a taxi.

Luke says a one Peter Apangu was found dead today in a taxi that was travelling from Katooke, Bwaise to Kampala City.

Luke reveals, “It is alleged that when the taxi reached Nakivubo Mews, the taxi operators tried to wake up Apangu to pay the fares only to realize that he was dead.”

He adds, “Our homicide team has visited the scene and realised the deceased had a swelling on the eye, an indication that he had been beaten or hit.”

Meanwhile, the deceased’s body has been taken to Mulago for a post mortem.

Luke says they have now arrested the tax driver, John Semwogerere and conductor Bruno Mawejje to help Police in the ongoing investigations.
