Kampala: People
Power has unveiled a 140 member team to spearhead their mobilization activities
across the country ahead of the 2021 presidential elections.
This was unveiled today 24 July 2019 at the Kyadondo East Legislators home
in Magaere Wakiso District.
The coordinators will establish district structures as the people power
movement prepares to take part in the next elections.
The political group running under
the leadership of Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu
has also disassociated its self from rumors that they intend to back up any
specific candidate.
The regional coordinators will be
entrusted with the duty of building and strengthening networks within the
regions and recruit new members to join them.
The 140 member team comprised of
among others former leader of opposition Winnie Kiiza, Arua Municipality MP
Kasiano Wadri, and Amuru District Woman MP Lucy Okello.
Kiiza who was a no-show at the time of unveiling the team was named as one of
the regional leaders for greater Kasese amidst ululations from supporters.
Ssenyonyi has also reassured
Ugandans that the pressure group will take over power come 2021.
“Some people have been asking us what we are doing. What I know is that we
have our next president here. So we are taking power in 2021,” said
