Police in an undercover operation tracked and arrested three armed robbers alleged to have attacked, robbed robed Shs16m and gunned down Ms. Nalukwago Sanyu a business woman operating her Mobile Money Kiosk from Nateete.
According to Police, the suspects’ car, a Toyota Wish, was captured by CCTV cameras in Kajjansi, sparking an intensive investigation that led to arrest of these suspects and recovery of three AK47 guns.
According to the Kampala Metro Politan report, it indicated that Police detectives tracked the owner of the car and upon interrogation, they established that a gang of armed robbery led by a one Denis Magusho and Emma Onenchan, both deserters of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces, were in possession of the vehicle on the fateful day.
The Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said that these suspects were also having criminal records as they had been released from Luzira prison in April on similar criminal charges.
“They were facing charges of robbing a city bank in 2015”.
He added that police obtained further information that the two suspects resided in an apartment in Masanafu, Rubaga Division. The detectives raided the residence where they arrested a one Stanley Muluuta and recovered two AK47 guns after a shootout with the suspects.
Police say upon interrogation, Muluuta said, he had been working with Magusho and Onenchan in previous robberies, including the attack where Raphael Walugembe, a student, was killed in Lungujja while robbing a mobile money agent on May 16. However one of the suspect Richard Kasirye, a UPDF soldier escaped and he is still missing.

Muluuta added that his colleagues were planning another robbery in Mutukula in Rakai District, which which made police to make through investigations.
Police say the three suspects were using UPDF stolen guns and are going to be charged with illegal possession of firearms.
