Police in Mukono has arrested four domestic workers in connection to the drowning of the State Minister for Water, Ronald Kibuule’s twins in a swimming pool at his home yesterday.
Patrick Onyango the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson in a press release confirmed the arrest.
“They are being held under Section 227 of the Penal Code Act, the charge being Rush and Neglect Act,” Onyango said in a statement.
Police say the arrest of the workers is to help in investigation of the incident that has left the country in shock.
The suspects include Peace Natukunda 23yrs, Scovia Nalubwama 32yrs a house maid, Kibaya Lawrence 33 a shamba boy and Agripa Kumanya a security guard.
The 2 years and 5 months old twin boys; Raiding Wasswa and Roman Kato at around 5:00PM on Monday passed on after drowning in swimming pool at the minister’s home in Kasenge Village, Mbalala Parish, Nama Sub-county, Mukono District.
It is alleged that the twins escaped from their maids and ended up in a swimming pool located about 600 meters from the main house.
According to reports, Steven Kaate, the Administrator of Sir Albert General Clinic who received them for the first examination said that the boys were dead, long before they were taken to hospital.
