Police Boss Survives Assassination!

Uganda Police Force’s Deputy Spokesman Patrick Onyango, cheated death when he escaped from two men on two Boda Bodas wielding guns who were trailing him.

Onyango survived an attack by men on two motorcycles, who waylaid him at Kireka at around 10pm as he was heading home on a motorcycle, according to a friend.

“He jumped off the motor cycle and took to the heels as he fled from the attackers. He escaped with some injuries,” the sources revealed.

Onyango had spent the better part of the day while at Wankulukuku stadium overseeing the recruitment of LDUs.

Ugandans who have been watching TV news, few days back, this officer was quoted by journalists saying Police had opened up investigations into cases of murder threats involving members of parliament Gerald Karuhanga, William Nzhoghu and Connie Galiwango who have reported threats on their lives on the floor of parliament.

“We’re still investigating these cases and very soon we shall give you a report on what we shall have found out,” Onyango said.

On September 8, former Buyende district police commander (DPC) ASP Muhammad Kirumira was shot dead alongside a female friend, Resty Mbabazi near his home in Bulenga along Mityana road.

The maverick former police officer was reportedly returning from Resort Park on his way home when he was intercepted by two assailants riding on a motorcycle without lights at around 9.00pm.

The gunmen reportedly shot more than 10 bullets at the vehicle, a black Toyota Corona registration number UAJ 228 V before fleeing from the scene. Good Samaritans removed Kirumira and the female occupant from the vehicle and tried to rush them to hospital to save their lives in vain.
