Police spokesman, SSP Emilian Kayima warned that only those companies granted permission to display fireworks would be allowed to do so, but under very strict and tight supervision by the Counter Terrorism Police that will also be in-charge of escorting the fireworks display materials to the cleared spots.
“All DPCs (Divisional and District) have the right to stop any fireworks display that is being conducted outside the set guidelines,” said Kayima. Adding, “And the fireworks display will only last five minutes and to be conducted by only those in possession of blaster (Fireworks) license.
The police also warned the public against burning of tyres on the streets and middle of the roads.
