Police Decline Okaying Bobi Wine Independence Day Concert

Kampala: The Uganda Police Force havw declined giving singer cum politician Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine permission to stage a concert at his One Love Beach in Busabala dubbed ‘Osobola Ku Independence’.

While addressing the media today at a press briefing, Bobi Wine assured a his fans that the concert will be held as scheduled and urged many of them to turn up for the show on Wednesday.

However, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga the press that he had not received any communication from his superiors indicating that the concert had been permitted to be held.

Enanga said that “I have not received any official communication from my superiors that the concert will take place. I urge the organisers to liaise with the concerned police commanders and authorities to clear this because we have not received any letter from the organisers.”

However Bobi Wine insisted that tomorrow he and other Firebase crew members are going to police to remind them about the letter they wrote to them last month informing them about the show and requesting for security.

It should be noted that the police have since 2017 banned Bobi Wine from staging any concerts or holding any public performances, because he has since turned into a politician and is no longer a musician.
