Police Heavily Deployed Ahead Of Zaake’s Return From India

By Denis Turyahebwa

Following the anticipation of Mityana Municipality legislator Hon. Francis Zaake’s return from India where he has spent a month receiving treatment consequent to the alleged torture by the security operatives in Arua Municipality by-election, the Uganda Police force has been spotted deployed heavily on most routes connecting to Entebbe International Airport.

Through his social media platforms Hon. Zaake confirmed his return on Thursday where his supporters are expected to give him a heroic welcome.

However, according to police, they have received intelligence that there are groups of people mobilizing people to cause chaos as the youthful lawmaker returns home.

The Deputy Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango says they have not received any written communication from anyone planning to receive the Zaake as far as the Public Order Management Act (POMA) recommends.

“Hon. Zaake will only be received by his immediate relatives and will be given enough security that will escort him to his home. Police will further ensure law and order for all road users.” Onyango confirmed.
