Police Hunt For Chinese Investor Who Escaped From Custody, Place Shs5m Bounty On Him

The police in Kampala are hunting for a Chinese national who escaped from cells a few days back.

According to police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the Chinese investor identified as  escaped from legal custody after failing to complete processing immigration requirements into Uganda.

A statement issued by Enanga reads in part thus; Ga Yudong, a Chinese National born on 26/04/1970  issued with Chinese passport number E43694653 at NEI MONGOL.

He was Intercepted at Entebbe International Airport on 17/01/2020 on Red Notice from  Beijing, but escaped from custody at Kololo Police station before completion of repatriation processes, leaving behind his passport.

He must be using forged or temporal travel documents.
Police appeals to whoever has information which may lead to his arrest  and prosecution to pass it on in confidence to the nearest police station or call 0714667712 or  0750142999.A reward of Shs5m awaits.”

However, it should be noted that this comes at a time when police is restricting entry of all Chinese and  other nationals of all countries affected by the Coronavirus outbreak.
