State Minister for Economic Monitoring, Peter Ogwang has confirmed that HE.Yoweri Museveni dubbed Commander in Chief of Uganda’s armed forces has already stamped into the list of 81 Ugandans to be recognized on heroes day scheduled for 9th June, 2022.Â
Ogwang says this year’s theme is “Commemorating our Heroes & Heroines:An opportunity to consolidate our efforts in securing Uganda.”

Among those to be awarded include Uganda Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga. Ogwang says these will receive medals in recognition of their contribution towards the liberation of the country.
”Today, I addressed the media on the forthcoming Heroes’ Day fete on Thursday. This year’s theme is “Commemorating our Heroes & Heroines:An opportunity to consolidate our efforts in securing Uganda.” 81 medalists including Police spokesperson Fred Enanga are going to be awarded,” said Ogwang.
He says 34 people will receive the 50th anniversary golden jubilee medal (Enanga falls among these), 17 for Nalubaale, 18 for Luweero triangle, two for long service silver police and lastly, 2 honorary medals will be awarded to civilians for showing unwavering support to the police programmes and thus made police operations easier and improved as well as the welfare of officers.
Asked why Enanga fits this medal, the Honorable Minister responded thus;
“He headed the economic crimes department and worked as a CID commander KMP, commander land protection police unit, Commander CID administration and training, among others. He demonstrated high professionalism standards in criminal investigations, including large scale corporate fraud of about Shs12 billion and procurement fraud.”
