Kampala, Uganda: The Police on Monday evening arrested two armed thugs and neutralized one, after exchanging fire with them. Prior to the shootout, the thugs had robbed a woman identified as Namusoke Najjemba, 60, at Kitende, in Kajjansi Division. Shortly after the robbery, Police 999 patrol cars were alerted that thugs travelling in motor vehicle registration number UAW 694L had robbed a woman. A  hunt for the vehicle was mounted until it was spotted  by policemen . A chase ensued until the thugs were intercepted around Kabalagala. On being cornered, they opened fire at the policemen, who shot back at them. In the process of exchanging fire with the thugs one was hit and he died on spot. His two accomplices in crime were arrested. Police sources reveal that the suspects have since been identified as Frank Kalule and John Mbayitayizibwe, while the deceased was only identified as Mohammed. The thugs are currently detained at Kabalagala Police Station as investigations continue
