Power To Change Leadership Belongs To Ugandans Not Donors: Minister Mbayo To Bobi Wine

By Denis Turyahebwa

Minister for Presidency Esther Mbayo told the press on Wednesday that NRM Government serves the will of Ugandans because people vote for it every time they go into elections and that they are the ones to change leadership not the western powers as Bobi Wine has been ‘brain washed’ to believe.

“Power belongs to the people, every after five years Ugandans vote us which means power is transferred by Ugandans every after five years, therefore the NRM Government serves the will of the people of Uganda,” she said.

When asked to clarify on her statement on the people power movement delivered in Masaka, Minister said it is true there are international NGOs funding Hon Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine and the whole opposition with an intention of overthrowing the Government but was quick to add that investigations were still on-going.

She advised Ugandans to keep peace especially as the country prepares to celebrate 56 years of independence. She said great men like Ignatius Musaazi and the colleagues played a big role in the acquisition of independence so Ugandans should not forget the history of this country.

Mabyo added that the achievements of the NRM Government are self-evident pointing out peace for all Ugandans and non-discrimination of every Ugandan compared to the initial Uganda under the leadership of other Governments.

However, Mbayo said the challenges like urban crimes that have seen Andrew Felix Kaweesi, Muhamad Kirumira, Joan Kagezi and other Ugandans murdered are challenge that calls for efforts of all people.

She confirmed the arrest of Kirumira murderers saying that one of the murderers was shot dead in the process of arrest and warned that all those involved would be arrested.
