The Ugandan Cabinet led by Prime Minister, Rt Hon Ruhakana Rugunda, has today been led on a guided tour of the newly constructed Mulago Specialised Women and Neonatal Hospital.
The 450 bed hospital was officially handed over to the Ugandan Government by Arab Contractors. It will handle High Risk ANC, Delivery & Post Natal Services, Laparoscopic surgeries, IVF, Gynecology, Urogynecology with focus on obstetric fistula.
Equipment for the hospital was procured at a cost of US$ 8,026,456.7 for highly specialized health care. Oxygen plants and all other vital medical gases will be available for all patients’ needs.
This Hospital will significantly reduce major referral costs that government has been incurring in the past.
