Many are wondering whether Uganda is preparing for war, this after a call to the UPDF- Reserve Force, veterans to come back for pre-mission training.
The statement released by UPDF spokesperson Brig.Gen Felix Kulayigye, indicates that the training shall conducted by able bodied reservists /veterans who will form part of Uganda Battle Groups XXXIX and XI.
The statement reveals that the requirements interested veterans should consider include;
(a) Must have original National ID
(b) Discharge certificate
(c) Be 55 yrs and below
(d) Shall undergo medical and physical screening to ascertain fitness.
”Upon completion of the exercise, successful veterans will be transported to Peace Support Training Center (PSO) Singo, Nakaseke District,” reads the statement.
”Veterans from the districts of greater Eastern Uganda (3 Division Area of Responsibility) thus; Bukedi, Teso, Elgon and Karamoja Sub regions are required to report to Bugema Army Barracks, Mbale district and Soroti Flying School, in Soroti City for the exercise,” adds the statement.
Meanwhile, TheSpy Uganda has learnt that the call up exercise tentatively commences on 15 Feb 2023 and ends 18th Feb 2023.
