Zimbabwe President H.E Emmerson Mnangagwa arrived in Uganda for the country’s 57th Independence Day celebrations currently underway in Sironko District.
President Mnangagwa was invited by his Ugandan counterpart President Yoweri Museveni to attend the celebrations as the country’s special guest.
He was received at the Entebbe Airport by Ugandan Minister of Foreign Affairs Sam Kutesa, Zimbabwe Ambassador to Kenya and Uganda Winpeg Moyo and Chief Director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Zimbabwe International Trade Ambassador Lovemore Mazemo.
On Tuesday night President Museveni hosted President Mnangagwa at State House in Entebbe, where the two countries also signed bilateral agreements.
President Mnangagwawas welcomed at State House and honoured with a 21 Gun Salute before inspecting a guard of honour mounted by the Uganda Peoples Defense Forces (UPDF) and the Uganda Police
This year’s Independence Day celebrations were held on the theme ‘Consolidation of National Unity, Security, Freedom, and Prosperity.’
