American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur and fashion designer Kanye West on Monday took time off his Album project to meet with the President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
The meeting according to the president’s press secretary Mr.Don Wanyama, took place at State House Entebbe.
The discussion, Wanyama says, “revolved around tourism and the arts.”
The President confirmed this on his official Facebook page saying they held a fruitful discussion on how to support efforts to promote Uganda’s tourism and the general arts.
“I welcome American entertainment stars Kanye West and Kim Kardashian to Uganda. I held fruitful discussions with the duo on how they can support efforts to promote Uganda’s tourism and the general arts. I thank Kanye West for the gift of white sneakers. Enjoy your time in Uganda. There is no country more beautiful than the Pearl of Africa,”the President wrote.
Also present at the Entebbe meeting was the First Son Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as well as other members of the First Family.
Kanye arrived in Uganda last week along with his wife Kim Kadarshian and rapper Big Sean.
The couple is camped at Chobe Safari Lodge in Western Uganda, where they are shooting videos for the singer’s latest studio album Yandhi.
Both Kanye West and President Yoweri Museveni are ardent supporters of US President Donald Trump and have often been criticized for it.
