President Museveni, Top Gov’t Heads Hold Secret ‘Succession’ Summit

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Saturday held a high level secret meeting with heads of the Legislature, Judiciary and Executive, the arms that make up government.

The secret meeting, which has since been dubbed Summit of the Three Arms of State, was held at the State House in Entebbe, attendees by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanyah, Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, Vice President Prof. Edward Ssekandi, NRM Secretary General Kasule Lumumba and Chief Justice Bart Katureebe.

A few hours after the secret meeting, Speaker Kadaga wrote thus on twitter;

“Today we had a landmark summit of the three arms of the state, the executive, the legislature and the judiciary,represented by President , Vice President, speaker and deputy speaker, Chief Justice and deputy Chief Justice
The meeting was also attended by the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda and the Secretary General Justine Lumumba.”

Although what was discussed still remains confidential, our Spy intimates that among the keys matters discussed was the 2021 General Election and a succession or transitional government in case of unexpected outcomes from the election.

They Spy revealed that the top government heads also discussed the postelection period and how to contain any situations that might arise, plus the future of Uganda’s economy.
