Prime Minister Rugunda Officially Returns To Duty After Surviving COVID-19

The Prime Minister of Uganda Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda has returned to official duties after surviving the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

It should be recalled that Dr. Rugunda went into self-isolation in June 2020 after some of the people he had been in contact with reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

Shortly before going into self-isolation, Rugunda tweeted that; “Friends, I have gone into self-isolation after some of my contacts tested positive for #COVID19. My own test result is negative, however, I have taken this decision as a health recommended measure. #StaySafeUG.”

However, we are more than happy to inform you that the Prime Minister later tested negative for COVID-19  and he has since resumed his official duties.

Actually, last week,Snoops at the Office of the Prime Minister revealed that he held several meetings with the COVID-19 National Task Force and several other government officials in a bid to further the fight against the pandemic.

In the same week, Rugunda also received USD100,000 from Uganda’s Friend General Clark, which is to be injected in the fight against COVID-19  and he tweeted thus about it; “I was pleased to handover today, a donation of USD$100,000 from Uganda’s friend, Gen. Wesley Clark, to the National COVID-19 Response Fund. Gen Clark gave this support to HE  @Museveni  who in turn directed that the money be handed over to the Fund. Thank you @GeneralClark.”

He added that; “While handing over the donation from friend @GeneralClark sent through HE  @KagutaMuseveni – to the National Response Fund to COVID-19, I urged all Ugandans to heighten adherence to  @MinofHealthUG guidelines in the fight against this pandemic.”
