Kampala: Yesterday marked a significant milestone for the creative community in Busoga as the Purple Skills Klinic Foundation hosted the 2nd Creative Arts Conference at Jinja Main City Hall.

The event, which attracted a diverse group of participants including artists, producers, filmmakers, songwriters, talent managers, content creators, and media personalities, focused on building capacity and professionalizing the creative sector in the region.

Themed “How to Professionalize and Grow Your Brand Beyond the Nile,” the conference aimed to equip creatives with the tools and knowledge necessary to elevate their work and expand their reach. Attendees had the opportunity to learn from industry experts about creating engaging content, ensuring high-quality audio production, effective branding strategies, music promotion, film production, and how to spot and capitalize on opportunities within the industry.

Key speakers at the event included prominent figures such as YouTuber Kasuku, talent manager Emma Carlos, producer Artin Pro, Wyclif from Content Connect Africa, Sera Adong from Mdundo.com, Alfa Times media personality, talent managers Shadrach Kisame and Manager Apple, as well as artists Fodaman and Geobless.

Their presentations provided valuable insights and practical advice that are sure to have a lasting impact on the participants.

Owek Hellena Namutamba, the Minister of Tourism for Busoga, also addressed the conference, highlighting the importance of the creative arts in promoting the region’s culture and tourism potential. She emphasized the need for continued investment in the sector to ensure that Busoga’s creatives can compete on a national and global level.
