Veteran singer Dan Kazibwe aka Ragga Dee has spoken out on why people still love him even when he is a member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and advised fellow musicians to stop attacking People Power pressure group leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
Ragga Dee said that; “Being in NRM is my right just like anybody else has a right to support whoever he or she wants. Being in NRM is not a crime and being in opposition is also not a crime. The problem with some of my brothers or my fellow artistes in NRM is that when they get money from State House, they become arrogant and this annoys people so much.”
He added that; “Another thing is that they start attacking Hon Kyagulanyi. However much I differ from Bobi Wine’s political ideology; to be honest that guy has a lot of followers, he has a lot of people who believe in him just like President Museveni has those who believe in him. Now you can’t open up a battle with Hon Kyagulanyi and you think his supporters will keep silent and look on…”
Raga Dee also gave fellow musicians some advice by saying that “The advice I give to my fellow NRM artists, eat the money and don’t attack the opposition or become arrogant, simple. Have you ever heard me anywhere attacking Hon Kyagulanyi or the opposition? It’s all about Maturity.”
Raga Dee in 2016 abandoned his music career and contested for the Kampala Lord mayor seat, although he was trounced by Hajji Elias Lukwago.
