City businessman Rajiv Ruparelia is in merrymaking mood after emerging winner of the Kalangala Autocross (Enduro) sprint, on Saturday, October 26, 2019.
Spy Uganda reveals that Rajiv was crowned champion after he won the six round autocross/Enduro rally held in Kalangala, an Island town and tourist destination on lake Victoria.
Driving with his co-driver Enoch Olinga, Rajiv won in a record time of 4:56 ahead of Andy Musoke’s 5:13.
Although he is new to the game, Rajiv is registering tremendous success in rally driving and a few weeks ago he prevailed in the Total Kabalega rally which was held in Hoima district, at which he won the Club Rally Championship (CRC).
While commenting about his success after the Kalangala rally, Rajiv said that; “Everyone wants to be number one or a winner, however [to me] any one who completes the race is a winner.”
Kalangala is located on Bugala Island, the second largest island in Lake Victoria, after Tanzania’s Ukerewe Island.
Our Spy who was at the rally reveals that after receiving his trophy and certificate, Rajiv, held a victory party with other rally drivers and his supporters.
The chief guest at the victory party was Rajiv’s father Kampala magnate Sudhir Ruparelia.
