City businessman Rajiv Ruparelia is set to battle with Moses Lumala and other rally drivers in the Kapeeka autocross championship this weekend.
Spy Uganda has learnt that Rajiv and other rally stars will participate in the third round of the Autocross Championship, which will take place at the newly unveiled 3.25Km track in Kapeeka, Luwero, district.
Rajiv, who will be cruising his VW Polo Proton, has vowed to build his profile, following the victory he registered in the Federation of Motor Sports Uganda Autocross event which was held in Kayunga in June 2019. While in Kayunga, Rajiv beat national champions Ponsiano Lwakataka, Ronald Ssebuguzi and Arthur Blick Jr. Their win also put Rajiv’s team in strong position for the Autocross championship and he is currently four points behind the leader Jonas Kansime in Mitsubishi Evo 8.
Apart from Lumala and Rajiv, the other drivers who will participate in the autocross include Yasin Nasser (Subaru GVB), Hassan Alwi (Subaru N14) and Christakis Fitidis (Mitsubishi Evo X). According to Helen Alum, the Clerj of the Kapeeka Course, the cars will make two runs each and the event will also have motocross.
