Kampala: Renown city lawyer Ladislaus Rwakafuzi was on Sunday evening rushed to Nsambya hospital after suffering a severe stroke.

A stroke is a sudden interruption in the blood supply of the brain. Most strokes are caused by an abrupt blockage of arteries leading to the brain (ischemic stroke). Other strokes are caused by bleeding into brain tissue when a blood vessel bursts (hemorrhagic stroke).

Family sources revealed to Spy Uganda on Tuesday morning that Rwakafuzi was still in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), undergoing 24 hour medical attention.

Rwakafuzi is a renowned human rights advocate who has represented very many Ugandans at a time when no lawyer in Kampala would rather represent them in court. Some of his biggest clients include Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye, former vice president Prof. Gilbert Bukenya and several other opposition politicians.

The lawyer, has for 20 years been fighting for human rights and providing free services to the needy whose rights have been abused.
