Roofings Rolling Mills Kicks Off 25th Anniversary Celebrations

Kampala: Roofings Rolling Mills on Friday hosted business Partners, distributors, suppliers, staff and well-wishers to a cocktails dinner at their factory in Namanve Industrial Park.

The event, which kicked off the Company’s 25th anniversary celebrations, began with a factory tour led by the Executive Director Olivier Lalani and climaxed with the official unveiling of the new Roofings At 25 logo. In her address, Olivier Lalan said “Today is a very special day for us. We are celebrating a 25-year-old journey of partnerships, compliance, growth, employment, hard work, innovation, service dedication and success. Over these years, we have turned a home-grown brand into a trusted brand and the market leader of steel and plastic construction products in Uganda”.

Dr. Sikander Lalani, Roofings Chairman, echoed Olivier’s remarks and added that there is still so much to do. “Over the past 25 years, we have worked passionately to uphold the high standards in business processes. Our efforts towards producing the best quality products, creating thousands of jobs, investing in new technologies and protecting the environment from pollution have changed the way Africa looks at Uganda,” Mr. Lalani noted.

The leading producer of steel and plastic construction materials, Roofings Group has been a major contributor to a number of big construction projects in Uganda. From Karuma dam, the new Nile Bridge in Jinja to the new Southern Bypass, Roofings has played a major part in Uganda’s development. Furthermore, the manufacturer employs high-tech machinery and state-of-the-art technology to ensure that all the products maintain the best quality standards. As part of the celebrations, Roofings longest serving employees honored Lalani with a plaque to appreciate his dedication towards ensuring favorable employment to Ugandans. The 25 anniversary comes on the heels of the decoration of their Chairman Dr. Sikander Lalani with the Order of the Rising Sun Award from the Emperor of Japan, in recognition of his long and mutually beneficial business relationship with the People and companies in Japan.
