In comparison to some countries in Europe and America and China which, have recorded Covid-19 related deaths in their thousands, we in Uganda are so far lucky in that not a single death has been recorded.”

He added  that; “This does not mean that that we should relax. If anything, we must continue to heed the directives of President Museveni and Dr. Ruth Acheng, the Minister of Health, if we are to come out of the crisis unscathed.”

“In this crisis, there are many people who have lost their jobs and are currently unable to support themselves. President Museveni a few weeks ago, called on the business community to see what they can do and like many other companies, Ruparelia Foundation heeded his call and we donated two Tata pick-ups.

“Once again, Ruparelia Foundation has stepped up to the president’s call and along with Gateway Delta and Gateway Metroplex Limited, we are donating 4,000 food kits to be distributed to those in need,” said an official from the Ruparelia Foundation.

He also noted that each of the donated 4,000 food kits contain: 2 Kilos of posho 1 Kilo of sugar 1 Kilo of beans, Detergent soap/1 bar of soap.

It should be noted that this is the third time Ruparelia Group is distributing food and other social amenities.

They started with distribution of relief aid to Kampala Central ghetto places before Government halted direct supplies to communities.

The second intervention was when they heeded to the President’s call to mobilize brand new vehicles for the National Task Force across the country. As part of their contribution, Ruparelia donated two brand new double cabin pickups.
