Uganda Prisons Service has reported an incident of murder by shooting and suicide which occurred at Uganda Prison Kakiika, Mbarara City.
According to press statement released by Prison’s spokesperson Frank Baine, No. 19015 warder Chemutai Aloysius aged 28 years attached to Kakiika Prison shot dead No. 19109 wardress Adong Margadalen (24 years) of Prisons Academy and Training School, Luzira and immediately after shot himself dead.
The incident happened on Monday 13th June 2022 at around 7:55 PM while warder Chemutai Aloysius was deployed on sentry at the south east perimeter fence of the prison.
Baine says that wardress Adong was a girlfriend and had visited him since Saturday.

”The sound of the gun raised the concern of the Officer in charge (O.C) and staff to mount an operation that led to the discovery of the bodies and the gun,” says Baine adding;
”Police was called in and the bodies of the deceased were taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.”
TheSpy Uganda has learnt that warder Chemutai hails from Mbale while Adong’s home district is Tororo.
