Iganga: Two Police Officers with a suspect have died in an accident this morning at Magamaga Trading Center along Iganga – Jinja Highway.
This accident involved motor vehicle registration number UBF 837K Toyota /premio silver in colour being driven by yet to be identified man had a head on collision with a trailer Reg No.KCQ 638C /ZC 738 Foton and later a side brush with a Police vehicle number UP 7483.
Among the deceised is D/ AIP Emmanuel Mawa attached to General Crime at CID headquarters, D / Sgt Dick Magara from General Crime CID headquarters and Phillip Wadambwa a suspect.
According to Busoga East police spokesperson ASP James Mubi, the accident was as a result of a Toyota Premio being driven by a yet to be identified person that had a head on collision with a trailer and later a side brush with their (police) vehicle registration number UP 7483, police have said.
“The incident happened at around 5am today 2nd July 2020. we are currently investigating the matter” he said.
Bodies of the deceased have been conveyed to Jinja Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
