At the heart of ‘Borders’ is Pearl  played by Tania Shakira Kankindl, an ambitious young dancer with big dreams of making it in the entertainment industry.

Alongside her dance troupe, The African Jewel, she earns a chance to compete in a major dance competition in Nairobi. However, without travel documents, she is faced with the daunting reality of borders—both physical and societal—that threaten to keep her from reaching her goal.

Determined to cross over by any means necessary, Pearl’s journey leads her to David played by Quincy Mulama, a young Kenyan immigration officer and former acquaintance who has his own secrets to keep. As their lives become intertwined, the show delves into themes of ambition, sacrifice, love, and the challenges of navigating an unforgiving world.
