Apac: Residents at Bangdongo Lodge in Apac district were gripped with shock and fear on Tuesday after landing on a corpse in one of the rooms at the facility.

Eyewitnesses reveal that the deceased, identified as Allan Mobaho, had booked a room at Bangdongo Lodge in Temogo A cell, Arocha Division, on Monday evening,  but didn’t get out of his room on Tuesday morning, which raised suspicion.

Later, when a cleaner went to clean the room, she was shocked to land on Mobaho’s corpse lying in bed. The cleaner quickly alerted his supervisor who in turn informed the police.

One of the staff members at the lodge Sarah Akello said

“The deceased wrote in our visitors’ book indicating that he was a resident of Alworoceng Village, Ibuje Sub County in Apac District. He  told  me that he had come for treatment at Apac district.”

Akello added that “He told me that he had spent the whole day at Apac hospital, but was not attended to as expected, and decided to try again the following day. It’s unfortunate that he didn’t make it,”

The Apac District Police Commander, Moses Ekudot, confirmed the incident and noted that the police have already started investigating the matter vide file number SD 10/06/08/2019.

Later, Mobaho’s corpse was transferred to Apac hospital mortuary for postmortem as the police hunt or for the deceased’s relatives to hand over the body to them for proper burial.

Jimmy Abili, the LCI Chairman of Temogo A Cell, said “He might have died of a natural death, because he was not found with any signs of harm on his body. But the postmortem report with shed more light on the cause of his death.” He also added that a medical form was recovered in the deceased’s bag.
